NIFE Holiday Party - Lombard, IL: With 2011 coming to an end, it is time again to celebrate the holiday season with our fellow club members. On Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 5:00pm until 8:00 NIFE will gather at the T.G.I. Fridays restaurant in Lombard, IL located at 601 East Butterfield Road (near the intersection of I-88 and I-355; 630-964-3743). It is located approximately one mile east of I-355 on Butterfield Road, 1/4 mile east of Highland Ave (I-88 exit on Highland North from either direction on I-88). We have reserved a special dining area for our group. Dress is casual and we will order off of the menu with separate checks.
As the holiday season gets into full swing, take a break and come out to celebrate with your NIFE friends! NIFE Winter Meeting Kick-Off - Lisle Library - Lisle, IL: On Saturday, November 19, 2011 our season of winter NIFE club meetings begins as we enlighten you on maintenance tips to keep your Fiero on the road. Our meeting will be held at the Lisle Library which is located at 777 Front Street which is at the intersection of Kingston Avenue and Front Street (southeast corner) in Lisle, IL. 20th Anniversary Dinner Celebration - Lombard, IL: It was Saturday, October 19, 1991 that fourteen people gathered with eleven Fieros present to form the Northern Illinois Fiero Enthusiasts car club. Now, 20 years later with over 350 club members, our club has stood strong against the test of time. The time has arrived to celebrate this milestone for our club. All club members from across the country are invited to enjoy the camaraderie at the Claim Jumper restaurant in Lombard, IL. The restaurant is located at 92 Yorktown Center Mall, which is at the northeast corner of the intersection of Highland Avenue and Butterfield Road. We have reserved tables in the back of the restaurant from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. We will be ordering off the menu (check out claimjumper.com) and have separate checks for your convenience. Be sure to save room for a special decorated cake for dessert; door prizes will be awarded and other surprises are planned as well! Our 2011 Fall Color Tour will finish here at our 20th anniversary dinner; attending both of these events is not required. As your schedule allows, you can participate either in the dinner or the Fall Color Tour, or both. NIFE Fall Color Tour: Well, the time has come where we once again take time in October for the annual Fall Color Tour. This year we are celebrating the Pontiac! We will be driving the famous Route 66 to Pontiac, Illinois. Our ultimate destination is the all-new Pontiac-Oakland Auto Museum. On the way we will see some of the old sites and towns that made Route 66 "The Mother Road". Our tour will originate in the parking lot of the Cheddar’s Restaurant in Bolingbrook at the Northwest corner of the intersection of I-55 and Route 53. We will be leaving from Cheddar’s parking lot at 10:00 am sharp, so please begin arriving at 9:30 am. We will then travel south on I-55. After we pass Joliet, we will cut over to Route 66 and travel past the Route 66 Speedway. From there we will travel South down the "Mother Road" though old farm towns, ghost towns and if you look closely, you will be able to see the original Route 66 pavement from the 1930s that is being preserved. After the visit to the Pontiac Museum there will be some options available including, some light lunch options, The Route 66 Association of Illinois Hall of Fame and Museum, The Livingston County War Museum, The International Walldog Mural & Sign Art Museum and more! After our visit to Pontiac we will head back toward the Chicago area to participate in our NIFE 20th anniversary dinner celebration at 5:00pm! Dinner participation is not required if your schedule does not allow.

June - October, 2011 Events of the Midwest Fiero Clubs:  Check out the Midwest Fiero Clubs events listed in the brochure mailed with this issue of Fiero Focus or visit www.fieros.us for details about all of the Fiero only car shows taking place around our Midwest area. At each show, the Best Interpretation Of A 1984 Fiero Indy Pace Car will be chosen by popular vote. Each of these “Best” Fieros will be prominently displayed at Fierorama and only one will be chosen by popular vote to be the Best Interpretation Of A 1984 Fiero Indy Pace Car In The Midwest. Attend as many or all of these shows on this 2011 show circuit! You can also find the listing of events on our Fiero Events Across the US as well.
September 18, 2011 15th Annual Fall All Pontiac/GMC Car Show - Lemont, IL: Join us as we travel to Lemont, Il for this show. This show is open to all Pontiac's and GMC light trucks. Rain or shine the show will take place at the lot next to the Burger King at 1276 State Street Lemont, IL. Car show entry fee is $12 by August 15th and $15 the day of the show. September 10-11, 2011 Fierorama 2011 -St. Charles, IL: On Sunday, September 11th, 2011 join your fellow Fiero Enthusiasts from near and far for our annual Fierorama. This year's event is being held at the Holiday Inn Express located in St. Charles, Illinois.  St. Charles is located in the Fox Valley area about 35 miles West of Chicago. It is easily accessible via several local roadways including Rt.64 (North Avenue), Rt.25, or Rt.31, all with easy connections from I-88, and I-90. The Holiday Inn is also our host hotel and is located at 1600 E. Main Street (Route 64) at the intersection of Tyler Road.

RESCHEDULED Due to rain- Fiero Night - West Chicago, IL:  On Saturday night, June 11, 2011, Augustino’s Rock and Roll Deli located in West Chicago near the intersection of Route 64 and Route 59 will host a Fiero Night from 5:30pm until 9:00pm. Double K Productions, will provide the entertainment for this evening to socialize with your Fiero friends. Grab a bite to eat for dinner at Augustino’s Deli; they have some really great sandwiches. Be sure to arrive early to get the best spots in the parking lot! This will be a night to share a meal, share some conversation and share your enthusiasm for your Fiero!
August 20, 2011 Village Buick/GMC Trip to the Village Car Show - Naperville, IL: On Saturday August 20, 2011 come on out and join your fellow club members for a trip to the “Village”. We will be attending the 2nd annual “Trip to the Village” gathering at Naperville’s Village Buick-GMC dealership located at 1585 West Ogden Ave in Naperville, IL. First, we are going to meet for breakfast at The Cracker Barrel restaurant located at 1855 West Diehl Road, Naperville, IL  (on the corner of Route 59 and I-88 exit #59) at 8:00am. Following breakfast, we will then drive over to the dealership as a group. They will be hosting a car show (you do not have to enter the car show if you do not want to). The entry fee for the car show is $5.00. The Winfield Boy Scout Troop #575 will be selling donuts, coffee, hot dogs, chips, and cold drinks. August 7, 2011 NIFE August Indian Uprising Event - St. Charles, IL: Come join us for fun and Pontiacs on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the Indian Uprising All Pontiac Event! NIFE members will meet at 8:00am at the Steak & Shake restaurant located at 320 West north Avenue, in West Chicago, IL where we will enjoy breakfast and each other's company! After breakfast we'll make the short cruise to the show and find a spot together among the 400+ Pontiacs expected to attend! Preregistration for the show is $18.00 if you sign up before July 28; it is $20.00 on show day. The show hours are from 8:00am-3:00pm. July 30, 2011 CANCELLED 3rd Annual Road Rally to IDEAL - Sycamore, IL: On Saturday, July 30, 2011 take a tour of the SK Manufacturing Plant in Sycamore, IL. This Road Rally is open to all sports cars, classic cars and bikes. Everyone who joins in the Road Rally will receive a goodie bag and door prizes and Free Culver's frozen custard. IDEAL products on display with a Ice Cream Social and cruise in downtown Sycamore at 4pm-8pm. Registration starts at 12:30 with the plant tour at 1pm-3:30pm. The event will be held at SK Hand Tool Plant (a subsidary of IDEAL) located at 1600 S. Prairie Dr. Sycamore, IL. July 3, 2011 NIFE Fourth of July Weekend Event - Volo, IL:  On July 3, 2011 come on out and join fellow Fiero enthusiasts at the Volo Auto Museum to celebrate the 3rd annual George Barris Charity Event. This event celebrates the artistry and skill of George Barris who made such famous cars as the 1960s TV show Batmobile and the Monkee’s GTO. You can read about his many custom cars from TV shows and his historic contributions here: wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Barris_(auto_customizer). You will be able to see many of his creations on display.
For this club get-together we will first start out by meeting at a local restaurant for breakfast at 8:30am. The place to meet is Bobby’s Barrel Inn located at 35009 North Glimer Road in Volo, IL. This is only one block southeast from the museum main entrance.
We will then head into the museum grounds as a group at 10:00am. The entrance fee is $15.00 per person. This allows entry into all areas of the museum and the attractions. There will be plenty of food, music, and entertainment for the whole family. Many events will be taking place including a costume contest, games for the kids, 50/50 raffle, and more!
They will also be holding a car show for all types of cars if you wish to enter. The car show entrance fee is $20 per car (instead of the $15.00 entry fee) and it includes TWO VIP wristbands for you and your co-pilot to tour all areas of the museum. If you register for the car show online before July 1, 2011, the first 100 registered will receive a dash plaque signed by George Barris himself! June 26, 2011 NIFE Swedish Days Parade Participation- Geneva, IL:  We would like you to join us in participating in the 62nd annual Swedish Days Parade “How Swede It Is” that takes place in downtown Geneva, IL. The parade will have about 110 units participating with over 60,000 people along the parade route. The parade will take place on Sunday, June 26, 2011 and will last a couple of hours from start to finish. Parade participants will need to be at Geneva High School at noon for parade lineup. We will provide more detailed instructions to the participants as they become available. We can have up to 10 cars in this year’s parade. If you would like to participate in the Swedish Days Parade this year, you can contact Larry Hall at 630-231-3214 or email him at halls925@att.net no later than June 13, 2011.
For those who can, we will meet for breakfast starting at 9:30am at the Colonial Café on Randall Road just north of Route 38. For those with GPS units, the location is 552 S. Randall Road, St. Charles, IL. We will then head over as a group to our starting point at 11:00am at the Geneva High School (416 McKinley Avenue, Geneva, IL) so we can get together before we step off into the parade route at 1:00pm.
If you would like to see your fellow NIFE members driving through downtown Geneva you can find a spot along Main Street (Route 38) and cheer on our caravan as we show the community that we still “LOVE” our Fiero’s. The parade route will take us from Geneva High School to the downtown Geneva train station; a distance of about 1-½ miles.
June 2-5, 2011 Dells Run 2011:  It is time again for our annual pilgrimage for the Fiero community to meet in the Wisconsin Dells. The Fiero Fanatics of Wisconsin will be rolling out the red carpet for Fiero owners from across the country from June 2, 2011 through June 5, 2011 for the 19th annual Dells Run event. Four days of Fiero fun with countless opportunities to meet new Fiero friends and experience everything Fiero – from mild to wild!
Some of the events planned are: parking lot poker, a variety of breakfast and dinner options sponsored by the participating Fiero clubs, onsite indoor/outdoor water park, Dells antique shopping, lots of local entertainment, and one of the BEST cars shows of the season. Of course this event would not be complete without the traditional ‘Dells Run’ through the downtown area right after the big show!
The host hotel and show will again be at the Chula Vista Resort. Call 1-800-388-4782 to make your reservations. Please call early to guarantee a room; ask for the “Fiero Fanatics Club” discount. It is also a beautiful location and the staff has been very accommodating to all the Fiero people in the past. Please consider pre-registering for this event. On Sunday, June 6, 2010, we will caravan back to Illinois after the awards ceremony and traditional NIFE club photo. We plan to be back on the road home by 11:30am-12:00pm. Join us for great times and good fun in the scenic Wisconsin Dells.
May 21, 2011 NIFE Spring Fiero "Road Trip" Driving Event:  The spring NIFE driving event will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2011.  We will gather at the Holiday Inn Express in St. Charles, Illinois (our Fierorama host hotel) at 8:30AM and plan to leave the Inn at 9:00AM. The group will drive through Sycamore and Genoa to the Belvidere, IL area stopping at the Popular Grove Vintage Wings and Wheels Museum for a visit.
This museum features a display of vintage aircraft, automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles and other modes of transportation. There are numerous reconstructed buildings including hangers, “Slims” Repair Garage and a Sun Oil Gas Station. There will be plenty of photo opportunities. We also will be treated to a tour of their airplane restoration facility.
Following lunch at a local restaurant, we will stop at the Paulson’s Agriculture Museum of Argyle. The museum was visited by the popular TV show “American Pickers” on the History Channel. The museum features a large collection of antique tractors, farm implements, windmills, washing machines and an operating HO model railroad layout. The model railroad layout is from a private layout that was allowed to relocate to the museum and has been reconstructed and expanded.
The final stop on our trip will be a short drive to Rock Cut State Park for a scenic drive through the state park and stop for a little picture taking and hiking. For a quick drive home there is an entrance to the toll road off Route 173 one mile east of the park. Hope you can join us!

First staged in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto show in North America and has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent. This year marks the 103rd edition of the Chicago Auto Show.
